California Prop 65 Warning

⚠️ California Proposition 65 Warning

A Note to Our California Customers

At Homestead Brand, we take great pride in crafting honest, hardworking goods from quality materials—right here in the USA. We're committed to transparency with our customers, and part of that includes compliance with California's Proposition 65 law.

What Is Proposition 65?

Proposition 65, officially the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986, requires businesses to provide warnings to Californians about potential exposure to certain chemicals that the State of California has identified as causing cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm.

The list currently includes over 900 substances, many of which are commonly found in household items, clothing, hardware, and even naturally occurring materials.

Why the Warning?

Some of the materials used in our products—like leather, brass hardware, adhesives, or dyes—may contain trace amounts of chemicals listed under Prop 65. These materials are common across the leather goods industry, and we source them from reputable suppliers who comply with all applicable regulations.

While these exposures are very small and our products are considered safe under federal standards, we include this warning to comply with California law.

The Required Warning

⚠️ WARNING: This product can expose you to chemicals including lead and leather finishing agents, which are known to the State of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm. For more information, visit www.P65Warnings.ca.gov.
