Returns & Exchanges

We have a 30-day return policy, which means you have 30 days after receiving your item to request and mail a return.

All returns must be approved by Homestead Brand prior to being sent back. Items returned without prior authorization will not be accepted.


Holiday Return Policy Exception

To make the gift-giving season easier, orders placed between October 1 and December 25 may be exchanged through January 31 of the following year, provided all other return requirements are met.

If a return is requested outside the standard 30-day window, the return will be issued as store credit only.


Eligibility for Returns

To be eligible for a return, your item must be:

  • In the same condition as received
  • Unworn and unused
  • With tags attached
  • In original packaging
  • Accompanied by proof of purchase

Leather begins to change the moment it is worn. Because of this, items must be returned in new, unworn condition to qualify for a full refund.

To ensure eligibility, we recommend trying belts on indoors over soft clothing to assess fit before wearing.


Wear, Restocking Fees & Ineligible Returns

Belts returned with visible signs of wear — including, but not limited to:

  • Creasing
  • Buckle impressions
  • Stretched holes
  • Early patina development

— are subject to a 30% restocking fee. This reflects the reduced resale value of worn leather goods and the labor required to inspect and process the return.

Items that are heavily worn, damaged, altered, or used are not eligible for return or refund.


Natural Leather Characteristics

Our products are made from full-grain, natural leather. As a result, each item will show natural variation in color, grain, and shape. These characteristics are inherent to leather and are not considered defects.

Leather belts may show:

  • Slight visual curvature or waviness when laid flat
  • Minor edge variation along the length of the strap
  • Light creasing or shaping after minimal handling or wear

These changes can occur quickly — sometimes within the first few hours — as the leather relaxes and begins to form naturally.


Straightness & Manufacturing Tolerances

Due to the organic structure of leather hides, belts are not guaranteed to remain perfectly straight or perfectly parallel along the edges when laid flat.

Visual straightness does not affect durability, performance, or lifespan and falls within normal manufacturing tolerances for full-grain leather goods.


Damages & Issues

Please inspect your order upon delivery and contact us within 48 hours if your item arrives defective, damaged, or incorrect.

Items must be reported before any wear. We may request photos to determine whether an issue falls outside normal material variation. Final determination of defects is at the discretion of Homestead Brand.

If your return is approved, we’ll provide instructions on how and where to send your package.

A prepaid return label may be provided. If so, a flat $10 return shipping fee will be deducted from your refund. You may also return items using your own shipping method at your expense.


Exceptions / Non-Returnable Items

The following items are not eligible for return:

  • Items marked “as-is”
  • Factory seconds
  • Used items
  • Gift cards

Exchanges

The fastest way to receive a replacement item is to return the original item and place a new order once the return is approved.

Exchanges are subject to the same shipping costs and eligibility requirements as returns.


European Union 14-Day Cooling-Off Period

If your order is shipped to the European Union, you have the right to cancel or return your order within 14 days of delivery, for any reason.

Returned items must be unworn, unused, in original condition, with tags and packaging intact, and accompanied by proof of purchase.


Refunds

Once we receive and inspect your return, we’ll notify you whether the refund has been approved.

If approved, refunds are issued to the original payment method within 10 business days. Processing times may vary depending on your bank or card issuer.
