A proper working pen, made in America.

Raw brass, one-hand operation, and Fisher's legendary pressurized ink cartridge. Built to work just about anywhere and to look better the longer you carry it.

A Working Pen, Made Like One.

There are plenty of disposable pens in the world. We wanted something different on our counter.

Fisher Space Pen has been building writing instruments in America for generations, and the Cap-O-Matic is the company's blue-collar workhorse. It's simple, dependable, and made to be carried and used rather than kept tucked away in a desk drawer.

This version is made from raw, unfinished brass. There isn't a clear coat hiding the metal underneath. As you carry it, the brass will darken and develop a patina from your hands, your work, and time. No two stay quite the same. If you'd rather bring back the original shine, the brass can simply be polished.

Inside is Fisher's sealed, pressurized Space Pen cartridge. It writes upside down, at odd angles, underwater, through grease, and in temperatures ranging from -30°F to 250°F.

Press the cap and you're ready to write. Press it again and the point retracts. No loose cap to lose in the truck, shop, or field.

Why We Carry It

Not made by us. Chosen by us.

Most of what carries the Homestead Brand name is made by our own hands here in Washington. From time to time, though, we come across another American manufacturer making something we believe deserves a place in the shop.

Fisher is a family-owned American company still building its pens here in the United States. That's the kind of product we're glad to keep around.

Raw Brass

The M4RAW is intentionally left unfinished. Raw brass reacts with the air, your hands, and the environment around it, gradually developing a darker and more varied patina. Scratches, marks, and color changes are part of the character of the material rather than defects. Want it bright again? Polish it and start over.
